Dr Sewak Singh
Sikh academic and speaker on Sikh history, the Punjabi language and memory of the 1984 Ghallughara; author of Shabad Jang, a book on narrative warfare.
Dr Sewak Singh is a Sikh academic and public speaker whose talks cover Sikh history, the Punjabi language and the memory of the 1984 Ghallughara. In 2014 Sikh Siyasat described him as Assistant Professor of Religious Studies and Assistant Dean of Akal College of Arts and Sciences at Eternal University, Baru Sahib. We have not confirmed his present post.
His work, as Sikh Siyasat reports it
- Language and the diaspora: a talk titled "Punjabi Language and the Sikh Diaspora" at the Punjabi School of the Guru Tegh Bahadur Gurdwara in Leicester, UK (video posted 25 December 2014).
- Interpretation: a speech at a seminar on interpretation (video posted in November 2017).
- Panth and Punjab: a talk titled "Concerns of Sikhs in Indian Subcontinent with Panth and Punjab" at a seminar of the Sikh Youth Wing, Bangalore, on 27 January 2019.
- Book: Shabad Jang, unveiled at a samagam at Talwandi Sabo on 28 April 2024. Sikh Siyasat describes it as a work on narrative warfare and the first of its kind in Punjabi literature.
- Cinema and Sikh history: in an interview with the journalist Mandeep Singh, posted on 6 May 2025, he explains why in his view the cinema and entertainment industry cannot be a proper medium for spreading Sikh history.
- 1984: on 6 June 2025 he gave a lecture titled "What has changed since Ghallughara June 1984" at a samagam at Jaga Ram Tirath, Mansa district.
These are his own arguments, as reported by Sikh Siyasat. We have not found independent coverage that assesses them. Sikh Siyasat keeps a page of his speeches and lectures.
